GoldMine’s own macro capability is fairly limited, and in Premium Edition has a few serious flaws. An incredibly powerful alternative though is a free utility called AutoHotKey (autohotkey.com).

AutoHotKey (AHK for short) is a general-purpose Windows scripting tool that can be used for all sorts of useful tricks, and it’s particularly useful for us GoldMine users. Scripts can be compiled as executable files and/or a default script can start up with the computer. This isn’t the place to go into too much detail of how it works though as you’ll find extensive documentation on the AHK website.
