GoldBox 7 is very sensitive to certain conditions.

It must reside in a directory called GoldBox7 at the drive root;

BDE must be set up properly:

1. Under Native drivers / dBase: MDX block size 1024 and memo block size 512;
2. Under System / init: Default driver dBase, Maxfilehandles 255 or greater, sharedmemlocation 6BDE

A very common side effect of these conditions not being met is that everything will appear to be fine but that records will not match or be imported.

Another symptom is when you get random errors that cause you to doubt your sanity. It won’t be reality that’s slipping, it will be your BDE settings.
