Users of old versions of GoldMine or Heat on Windows Vista or Windows 7 may suddenly get the following error when trying to run the program:

“A referral was returned from the server”.

What has happened is that the certificate on the software has expired and Windows will no longer let it run.

There are 2 ways of dealing with this: upgrade your software or just disable UAC on the affected machine.
